Himanshu Kapania, Chairman
Mr. Himanshu Kapania is a BE (Electricals & Electronics Engg.) from BIT (Mesra) (1979-83) and a Post Graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (1988-90). He was appointed Managing Director of Idea Cellular Limited w.e.f. 1st April 2011. Idea is a pan-India, integrated Mobile Operator, presently with revenues in excess of US$ 4 billion.
Marten Pieters, Vice Chairman
Marten Pieters (LLM) completed his Law study at Groningen University, Netherlands with a major in Economics in 1977. In February 2009 he was appointed as Managing Director and CEO of Vodafone India, subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc. in India. In 2012, he has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the industry body for GSM telecom operators in India.
Rajan S Mathews, Director General
Rajan has earned both his Master of Business Administration (Finance & Accounting) and Master of Arts (Economics) degrees from Rutgers University (USA) and he is a CPA from the State of New Jersey, USA. Prior to joining COAI as DG, Rajan served as COO of US Operations and Corp. CFO and VP of Telargo Inc. (a Joint Venture of NTT DoCoMo), overseeing all of the company’s Strategic Planning, Business Development, Financial, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Administrative and Human Resource functions.
